The “Sunday Scaries” are a feeling people have, usually on a Sunday, of anxiety or restlessness as the workweek is imminent. This feeling is common for people who have worries about the upcoming workweek.

Each individual will experience the “Sunday Scaries” in their own way, but common symptoms include low energy and trouble sleeping. The reason for these feelings can vary but many put it down to unhappiness at work, stress inducing work and lack of work-life balance.

Some ways to deal with the “Sunday Scaries”:

-   Planning for the week ahead.

-   Set up a relaxing Sunday routine, with activities you enjoy. This could involve going to a coffee shop with a friend, for example.

However, if the feeling is constant and you dread going into work the night before, another suggestion is to change the job you are in. Whether it is the stress it induces or lack of work-life balance your experiencing this job may just not be suitable to you. Obviously, this will be a big change and is not an easy decision to make, however in the long-term it may be beneficial to stop these anxious feelings.
