Paraplanner / Assistant Financial Planner - Harpenden

Our client is looking for an experience Paraplanner / Assistant Financial Planner to join their expanding team based in Harpenden. It will be a full time hybrid working role, with the main purpose of supporting and working alongside one of the most Senior successful Advisers at the firm, with the option of moving to a career as a financial adviser over time (if desired). This is a rare opportunity to work with one of the leading advisers within the firm, enhancing your knowledge and industry experience with the possibility of working towards your own client bank in the future should you wish to progress in that direction.

Key tasks:

  • The key discipline will be technical report writing and occasional cashflow forecast generation
  • You will be expected to assist the adviser in the creation and implementation of a client’s financial plan and help decide on the advice and strategy.
  • Product research and building relationships with fund management companies and product providers
  • Attendance at fund management and product conferences and workshops where relevant
  • Obtaining product key features using internal systems and software, provider intranets and the internet
  • Liaising with product and investment providers. Processing applications for products and investments by post or via the internet
  • Administering client files
  • Documenting and attending client meetings, occasionally presenting on subject technical matters
  • Enhancing and developing personal relationships with top tier clients and speaking with clients when required
  • Assisting at our annual personal finance conference
  • Providing support for client meetings including schedules, valuations, key features documents and other information/documentation
  • Updating and using the back-office systems, reporting M.I. data to Managers and Directors

 

Technology:

Microsoft Office Suite, Iress, Xplan, O&M, Profiler, Cashcalc, Voyant

Knowledge of Standard Life Wrap, Aegon/Cofunds and AJ Bell Wrap would be preferred but not essential.

 

Qualifications:

Diploma qualified preferred but will consider candidates with at least 3 RO papers passed and 2 years report writing experience.
