We are looking for an experienced Investment Researcher / Administrator to support Financial Advisers and Paraplanners in an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) environment. This hybrid role combines administrative, compliance, and investment research responsibilities to ensure a smooth, efficient, and compliant client service process.

You will act as a key point of contact between advisers, clients, and external providers while assisting with research and documentation that supports investment recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:
Administrative & Compliance Duties

  • Act as primary liaison between advisers, clients, and external providers.
  • Manage Letters of Authority (LOAs) and ensure timely processing of applications, fund switches, and withdrawals.
  • Maintain accurate client records in the CRM and ensure all documentation complies with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Prepare client files, valuation reports, and meeting documents.

Investment Research & Technical Support

  • Source up-to-date fund values, quotes, and illustrations.
  • Conduct initial product, platform, and investment solution research using tools such as Financial Express, Defaqto, or Dynamic Planner.
  • Review portfolios, calculate performance metrics, and produce reports for client meetings.
  • Support suitability assessments by gathering client financial and personal data.
  • Accurately process new business applications and other transactions via online platforms.

Key Competencies & Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent numeracy and IT proficiency, including financial planning software and Excel.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple cases to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional client and provider liaison.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in administration within financial services, wealth management, or related sectors.
  • Relevant financial services qualifications are desirable, such as:
  • Certificate in Financial Services (Level 3 or 4)
  • Modules from Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (e.g., R01, R02)
  • Investment Administration Certificate or equivalent
