FINANCIAL ADVISER - LONDON

Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Adviser to deliver holistic financial planning to both prospective and existing clients. The role focuses on providing personalised financial solutions that help clients achieve their financial objectives while supporting business growth through client retention and new opportunities.

 
Key Responsibilities:

• Client Discovery & Financial Planning
• Conduct detailed fact-finding to understand clients’ personal and financial circumstances, knowledge, experience, attitude to risk and capacity for loss.
• Establish and regularly review clients’ financial objectives and risk profiles.
• Assess existing financial arrangements and recommend suitable planning strategies based on research.
• Clearly explain the benefits, risks and rationale behind financial recommendations.
• Prepare suitability reports using approved templates where appropriate.

Client Relationship Management:

• Deliver an excellent client experience throughout the onboarding process and ongoing relationship.
• Conduct regular client reviews in line with company service standards.
• Complete compliant annual reviews with fee-paying clients via video or telephone.
• Maintain strong, long-term client relationships and identify opportunities for further support.

Business Development & Performance:

• Achieve agreed annual targets for new business and service KPIs.
• Proactively generate new opportunities through prospecting and following up with potential clients.
• Promote the central investment proposition and support the migration of clients where appropriate.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with paraplanners, administrators, compliance teams and investment specialists.
• Maintain accurate records of all client meetings, advice and documentation.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure full compliance with all relevant FCA regulations and financial services legislation.
• Stay up to date with regulatory changes, tax legislation and market developments.
• Maintain a valid Statement of Professional Standing (SPS) and ongoing professional development.

File & Data Management: 

• Maintain compliant and auditable client files.
• Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to data protection and record-keeping policies.
   

Person Specification:
Qualifications

• Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (essential).
• Ideally working towards Chartered status.
• Competent Adviser Status (CAS) and current SPS.

Knowledge & Experience:
Strong knowledge across financial planning including:

• Investments
• Pensions
• Personal Tax
• Estate Planning
• Protection
• Mortgages and Equity Release (where applicable)
• Experience delivering advice via video meetings and telephone consultations.
• Ability to use financial planning tools such as cashflow modelling software.
• Strong understanding of compliance processes and financial services regulations.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with both new and existing clients.
• revious use of industry systems such as Intelligent Office is beneficial but not essential.
