An established and highly regarded Chartered Financial Planning and Wealth Management firm is looking for an experienced Client Manager to join its growing team.

This is a varied and client-focused role, combining elements of paraplanning, financial planning support and client relationship management.

You will work closely with Financial Planners while taking day-to-day responsibility for a portfolio of clients. The successful candidate will be expected to build strong, long-term client relationships, understand their financial objectives and help deliver tailored financial planning strategies.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both the technical and relationship-management sides of financial planning and wants to play an important role in delivering an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend client meetings alongside the Financial Planner and prepare accurate meeting notes documenting the client's needs, objectives and circumstances
  • Build and maintain strong ongoing relationships with clients.
    Respond to client queries, provide updates and arrange regular review meetings.
  • Work closely with Financial Planners following client meetings to understand individual circumstances and contribute to the development and implementation of financial strategies.
  • Carry out research and analyse financial products and services appropriate to individual client circumstances.
  • Discuss suitable solutions and recommendations with the Financial Planner.
  • Prepare investment strategies, mandates and recommendation reports for review by the Financial Planner.
  • Ensure all documentation and recommendations meet required regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Complete regular portfolio reviews and maintain accurate client records and file review systems.
  • Monitor client holdings and changing financial priorities.
  • Ensure agreed recommendations are implemented accurately and within appropriate timescales.
  • Use financial planning, research and investment platforms effectively.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial services, industry developments and regulatory requirements.
  • Work in accordance with Consumer Duty requirements and focus on achieving positive client outcomes.
  • Support the wider Financial Planning team as required.

Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:

  • CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience within Financial Planning, Wealth Management, Paraplanning or IFA environments.
  • Strong understanding of the financial planning process.
  • Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and research abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • The ability to explain financial information clearly and appropriately.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A professional, ethical and client-focused approach.
  • A genuine desire to continue developing technical and professional knowledge.


Financial Planning Systems:
Experience with financial planning and research systems such as Voyant, O&M, Analytics, Papercloud and investment/wrap platforms would be advantageous.
